New Sketch LCOM

Hi again! Today I have a great sketch to share and the card I made to go along with it.

So cute!! So here is my card that I made based on this sketch:

I used lots of different product to make this card. The base and cs was from Papertrey Ink, the big flower is Prima, the larger butterfly is Jenni Bowlin, the little guy is a Martha Stewart punch covered in antique linen stickles and then the sentiment is from PTI. Oh and the ribbon is from Michael's I believe. For the background I used a Hero Arts flourish stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder and then went over it in peeled paint distress ink.

Hi everybody!! I am finally back in the blogging crafty world!! I took a little break and I am so happy to be here again :) I have joined LCOM for another term on the Design Team..Yay!!

And here is my take:

I used PTI CS, and Autumn leaves flourish stamp with glossy accents. The flower is from Prima and the sentiment is also PTI.

New Sketch at Let's Capture Our Memories!!

Hello again! There is a new sketch up at the Let's Capture Our Memories blog...I love this sketch. It's a great one if you don't have a ton of time to create a card. I didn't this week, so I found this sketch to be super handy!! The twist for this sketch is to use the color purple, a button and flowers. Here is my card:
I used pink gemstones instead of the button, and the background paper is the Olivia line by Basic Grey. Love that collection. If you decide to participate in the LCOM Challenge, be sure to post it the Mr. Linky so we can see your work.
My sister had her baby this past weekend-they are both doing very well. He is so beautiful, I just adore him!! That's why I didn't have a whole lot of time to make my card!!

Gift Holder Tutorial

Today I have a cute little gift holder tutorial for you. I wanted to get a jump on creating small, but thoughtful gifts for the upcoming holidays (without breaking the bank) so I came up with this little holder for packets of tea.
Really you could adjust the size of the holder to accommodate anything but I love these individual tea packets. Here is the finished holder:

Deepest Sympathy

Hello again. Today I have a sympathy card to share. I used the new wreaths for all seasons stamp from PTI. I just love it! I needed to make a sympathy card and thought this was a perfect image to use.

Everything on the card is from PTI with the exception of the ribbon, that is from Micheal's a long time ago! Thank you so much for looking! I hope you are having a wonderful fall. I am getting excited for the arrival of my nephew-less than 2 weeks hopefully!!

New Challenge @LCOM!

Hello again. Today I have a new challenge for you from Let's Capture Our Memory. We started a new term last week and I am so excited to be a part of it! We have some great things in store for you!! I can't wait...so let's get started. Each week we are going to be using a sketch as our inspiration and then to that sketch a smaller challenge will be incorporated. So this our sketch for this week:

And the twist for this week is to use 2 different ribbons on your card.
Here is my card:I am so in the fall mood right now. Crisp, cool air. Snuggling up in blankets and sweaters. Warm Chai tea..mmm. So naturally I made a card in a fall-ish theme :)
I love the image-it's from PTI their Vintage Picnic stamp set (my favorite).

Baby Shower

Well I was able to round up a couple photos from my sister's baby shower a few weeks back. And by a couple I mean 2 ;) I am soooo bummed I didn't think to take any pictures.

Our color palette was Teal, Orange and Light Blue. I loved it! I even made swatches with my Papertrey ink cardstock for my sister (that was planning the shower with me) to go shopping with . I got made fun of a lot for that one! Here is the invite I made. This is just one I had tested out. I ended up coloring in the ducks with colored pencils to give it a softer look for the finished invites. Here I used Copics.I really liked how they turned out. I ended up making about 50 of these. I kept the design simple knowing that I had to make lots of them.

Here is a banner I made for the gift table. Perfectly coordinated with our other colors ;)
I'm glad somebody got a picture of our punch before everybody dug into it! I made labels for all our beverages so people knew what they were. I didn't even get to try the punch but I hear it was good :)

For the decor outside I made about 6 large teal colored pom-poms that we strung from the trees all around our tables. Then for the center of the tables I made these:

On the menu we had the pretty punch, cucumber-lemon water, veggie pizza, fruit kabobs, cheese and crackers, pasta salad, and cupcakes. It was a pretty warm and sunny day, I had lots of fun planning it and learned a lot!!! I would love to plan another one soon :) Thanks for taking a peek into my fun day!! See you next time.

My sister's baby shower was this past Saturday and of course I brought both of my camera's and didn't take any pictures :( After everything was all torn down and being put away it hit me-I didn't take any pics of any of the decor I made-which was everything. Oh well. It was fun and one girl wanted all my pom poms so I said go ahead! I didn't know what I was going to do with 6 of those!

LCOM Challenge & Baby Shower Sneaks

Hello again! There is a new challenge up on the Let's Capture Our Memories blog. This week we want you to use this image to create a card. So cute!!!!

Here is my card for this challenge:I wanted to do a c&s card since that is what grabbed me when first seeing this image. I love the flower so I made a little flower cluster and then rounded the corners of the card to look like the toe of the boot. Now it's your turn-create a card around this image and then post it on the LCOM blog using the Mr.Linky. I can't wait to see what you come up with, and be sure to check out what the other designers created!!
This Saturday my youngest sister and I are throwing our middle sister a baby shower. It's the first baby in our family and I can't wait!! It has been so much fun planning this event but now it is coming down to the wire and I have lots to do before Saturday. I wanted to give you a little sneak peek at some of the decorations I've made so far. I am making everything so there will be a full picture overload after the shower!! This is a special something that my sister can use is the babies room.
And these fun things will be all over the place!! I am hoping the weather holds out and we are able to have this thing outside, otherwise there is going to be lots of people crammed into the house!! Fabric Challenge

Hello again, I am back with more craftiness!! I had to take a little time out from my design team responsibilities and any studio time for the last few weeks. My father in law had to have major surgery and then my little dog had to have some minor surgery (on the same day no less) so I have not had much time to play. Things are slowly getting back to normal so I finally have a card to share with you!!

This card is for our current challenge at Let's Capture Our Memories. We want to see you use fabric on your card. If you join in on the challenge make sure you link to your blog using the Mr.Linky on the LCOM blog. There is a Guest DT spot AND 15% off in the LCOM store up for grabs. Here is my card::
I used fabric from K and Company. I love the little apple images and I think the colors are so pretty together! I adhered the piece of fabric to my card and added a little slot in the top to make a little pouch for my sentiment. I added some Stickles to some of the apples for a little bling. Pretty simple, but cute :)

Paper Piecing Tutorial LCOM

Today I am going to show you how I paper pieced the vase on this card. I love to use this technique on my cards because then it doesn't matter if you have the right marker or ink, you can create whatever look you want.
Ok so let's get started. All you need is your stamp, ink, scissors and your patterned paper.
First I stamped my image on the die cut paper and then colored in the flowers.
Next stamp your image again on your patterned paper.
Then cut out your image from the patterened paper cutting close to the inked line. I like to leave the inked line on my second image so that it gives a good outline on my finished card.
Then layer your second image over original stamped image and you now have your paper pieced finished image.

Now you can add glitter or buttons or anything to your image to make it your own. I added Glossy Accents to give it some shine. You can use this technique on so many different images-have fun with it and if you do make something using this technique let me know-I would love to see it!! Have a great day!

There is a new sketch up at Cardabilities. This one was so much fun to create with. It's a circle card and I loved making a different shape and size card. Here is the sketch:

I used a Nestabilities Die to create my shape, the back is actually a kraft piece of cardstock but you can't see it in the photo. I used PTI CS, Text Style stamp, and a fillable frames die and sentiment. The glitter and butterfly is Martha Stewart.

Embossing Challenge at LCOM

We have a fun embossing challenge going on at Let's Capture Our Memories this week. We all have the supplies to do any kind of embossing on hand so let's see what you come up with for this challenge. For my card I did a layered embossing technique. I had seen a video awhile ago for this and had to try it for this challenge.

First I stamped Text Style Backgrounds (from PTI) in smoky quartz ink from Autumn Leaves. Then I stamped my main image (Bold Floral Image from Hero Arts) with Versamark Ink and heat embossed using clear powder. Then using my Distress Inks, I colored in each section using my blending tool. After I had colored it in how I wanted it, I spritzed a little water on it to blend the colors a little bit. I added some matching paper from Crate Paper (love this color and pattern!) and that's it! I love how you can see the text through the embossed portion..I think I am going to be using this technique over and over! :)

Upcycling Challenge LCOM

Good morning friends! It is Monday and that means there is a new card challenge at Let's Capture Our Memories. For this week the challenge is to up-cycle found objects for your cards, such as a receipt from a store or a ticket stub. Let your imagination run wild and see what you come up with!

Here is a look at my card. For the flower I used tissue paper from a package (my up-cycling item). I layered a large bunch of the tissue paper and die cut the shape of the flower. Then I used the Text Style background stamp from PTI and stamped using their Ocean Tides ink. After the flower layers were all inked up, I pieced them together using a Making Memories brad. Then I scrunched all the layers of the flower towards the center. Lastly I used Rangers Walnut Stain Distress Ink on the edges using an Ink Blending Tool.

Here is a little closer look at my flower. This card was specially made for my Mother-In-Law, her birthday is tomorrow and I am so excited to give it to her! I love how it turned out! Power Week at LCOM

Good morning all! This week is a Power Week at Let's Capture Our Memories. That means there are 2 challenges you can participate in, you can combine both into one card or just do 1 of the challenges-it's up to you!!

So the challenge is Use Your Stash/Household Inspiration. For the use your stash the item(s) must be over 2 months old. And for the household challenge, take a picture of something around your home that you are inspired by and use that inspiration to create your card/project. Please include your photo with your post so we can see it too!!

And now for my card, first is my inspiration piece. I found these little baskets at the Target $1 spot awhile ago. I love the bright cheery colors and I love the flowers all around the basket. I tried to mimic the flowers and the bold colors in my card.The stamp is from PTI and I have had it for about 6 months so I was able to do the Use Your Stash Challenge too!! Hello! Hope everybody has fun plans for the weekend! Me, I work all weekend but I get to spend some time with one of my sisters so that makes it better :) Today I have a card to share from Sketch #7 at Cardabilities. First here is the sketch-I absolutely love all the possibilities with this one sketch.

I made this card for my sister-in-law who just celebrated her 18th birthday. I used some Dear Lizzy pp for the background and then also for the flower. I added to strips of glitter at the top for a little bling.

Well now that Father's Day has come and gone for this year, I am going to share the Father's Day card I made for my dad and father in law.... I just love this image! So, so cute and I love the inside sentiment: For all you are, For all you do, Thank you. (no pic-sorry!!) Isn't that just great!
I stamped the background in Versamark and used Text Style from PTI. I then used my Cuttlebug and the argyle embossing folder for my navy background. I got this stamp at my local Archivers. And here is a little closeup of the stamped image.

I am so excited that I can finally share some more exciting news! I was asked to be on the Cardabilities Design Team! 2 design teams in 2 weeks-I am pinching myself! I have lots of exciting things going on right now, aside from the design team news. My sister is expecting her first baby in October and I decided to make her a memory book for her gift. Just Because

I was very busy creating in my craft room yesterday-it was so much fun! Here is a card I made up at the last minute when I thought I was going to get all cleaned up and head to bed, but then I saw the Asian Fusion set just sitting there and I had to play!

I made the background using 2 of the little individual stamps from this set. I am obsessed with making my own backgrounds lately. So here is my card using Hawaiian Shores and Sweet Blush colors. Everything is PTI except for the ink and that is VersaMagic Chalk ink, I used Pink Grapefruit and Turquoise Gem. I think the Turquoise Gem is a pretty good match for the Hawaiian Shores CS...although it is just a touch more green-but it works. And then for the vase I used Liquid Pearls in Gold Pearl by Ranger. I thought it added the perfect texture and shimmer.

PT Pixies May Challenge

Well I finally finished my card for the May challenge-with 1 day to spare! May just got away from me!

I used the YOF: Sweet Peas as the background, then colored them in with Copics. I was inspired by a nightgown from Target, it's the Liberty of London brand. In the photo the nightgown is on the left. (click on photo to get a closer look)

Hello! Today's card is using a digital image from The Stamping Boutique. I thought this image was too cute! It was fun coloring her in. It truly brings me back to one of my favorite past times as a little girl-coloring! But now I get to do it with fun tools like Copic markers *sigh* I just love love love my Copics! I still have a small collection, slowly but surely I am building it up though :)

For the Graduate

Here are a few cards I made for some Graduates. The first one is a regular card in the graduates school colors. I also have a picture of the inside of the card and the envelope( I stamped that as well). I am really happy with how this turned out! (The envelope is on the left and the interior of the card, on the right)

Then I made a money holder, as a special request for my mother in law. It took a few tries, but I think I finally got it...now I have to make a bunch more! I found a tutorial online on how to make this...I love it! I can't wait to make some for birthdays and other occasions too.

This is the front cover of the card/money envelope.

And this is the inside, I made a little window using a Nestibilites die so once there is $$ in there it'll show through the little window-so cute!

Now the colors of the front and inside really do match-Ha! They don't appear to from the photos-but I swear it :)

Introducing Miss Stella...

We adopted a new dog into our family! This is Stella..she is a fawn boxer, they think she is 6 years old. She has had a pretty rough life. She was rescued from a puppy mill (about 1 1/2 months ago!). Her whole purpose in life was to make lots and lots of puppies. Needless to say everything is new to her. She is a really big sweetie pie, but doesn't trust us humans too much (can you blame her). We are so happy to be able to give her the life she deserves. She adores Chewie, which is so cute to see her following him everywhere-and he loves it too!

Here is a fun card I made awhile back (I think I shared a yellow/orange version of it). I love this one because the colors are so summer-y to me. I used Hero Art and PTI stamps and My Minds Eye Patterned Papers. On the butterfly image I colored in with Copic markers then coated it with Glossy Accents. Thanks for stopping by today!

Mothers Day Card and Chewie

Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful sunshine filled day. I wanted to share a picture I snapped of my dog, Chewie, while I was taking pics of my cards this morning. He is so stinkin cute! He's a brindle boxer and almost 7 so he is getting lots of gray in his face, but he still acts like a puppy! Hopefully we will be adopting another dog for him this spring so he'll have a buddy to play with.

Ok so I did have a card to share as well today. I had a larger order of Mother's Day cards, so I wanted a simple design that I could make a bunch of at a time and this is what I came up with.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but I used the Tim Holtz Distress Stickles, Antique Linen, in the center of the flowers. Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day!!

I am loving all the sketches from 2 Sketches 4 You! I did 2 more this morning and have more planned for this afternoon....(I love my days off!!)

My first card is for 2 challenges. The sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 You. And then the color combo is from Stamp Away With Me. These colors are just gorgeous! The photo does not do it justice! I had lots of fun with this card and I think this sketch is going to come in very handy-I just love it!

Next up is a card that I designed around my tissue box-I also followed the bonus sketch from 2 sketches 4 you. I love how it turned out!

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

I decided to play along with the sketch challenge from 2 Sketches 4 You this week.

For my first card I used this picture as my color inspiration.I just love all the different hues of the purple, with the pop of bright color from the orange flowers and a little lemon thrown in there as well. I think it's hard to tell in the photo but I added some yellow gems to the center of my flower.

This next card used the bonus sketch. I loved this sketch so much! I love the square shape-I don't make them often enough. I definitely think this is a sketch I will be using over and over!

Good morning!

The other day I wanted to make a card with a twist. I thought I'd try my hand at an irregular shaped card. And with Mothers Day next month (already!) I decided to make my mama a sweet card. I kept it very simple, I wanted the colors of the bright flowers to really pop against the white embossed card base. And then you can see in the bottom picture how the card opens up. I can't wait to make a few more of these-it was a lot of fun!

I just love Mondays and today is no exception. I plan on being in my studio all day! But first I wanted to share some spring inspired cards with you.
The butterfly in this card was colored in with Copic markers and then covered in a glaze to make it super glossy. Fun and easy!

Here is my second card, I embossed the card base using my beloved Cuttlebug and the swiss dots embossing folder. I also used the Egg Hunt stamp set from Papertrey Ink
